I’m taking a few weeks away from social media.
I’m longing to lose myself in my work again—to rediscover the quiet escapism that art brings. That place where hours disappear unnoticed and the outside world falls away.
I’ve reached the point with my current pieces where they need to be hidden from me. The urge to keep tweaking, adjusting and adding is still there, but I’m happy with them. They are finished, even if part of me refuses to believe it.
In my studio there is a hatch – a strange little door that feels as though it leads to another dimension. That’s where these works will go. Lowered out of sight, beyond the reach of unnecessary revisions, safe from my wandering hands.
There they can rest while I begin new pieces. And, if they’re lucky, they’ll remain hidden in that secret place until it’s time for the next exhibition. No one has seem them yet.
For now, I want the freedom of a blank page, the excitement of new ideas, and the pleasure of making without the pressure of sharing.
