For the last 6 months I’ve been immersed in a vibrant new direction — a circus of characters that have emerged from a lifetime of multi tasking in graphics, illustration, fashion and art. They began with a street art series, Clowning Around, playfully interacting with the urban landscape, engaging with peeling paint, weathered posters, and the textures of forgotten corners. It’s rarely serious but I’m not playing around. I aim to bring humour, grit, bold personality and hints of vulnerability.
I will be sharing some of my new work as part of Birmingham Open Studios at Seventh Circle in Digbeth (Sept 20/21st and 27th /28th) then in Brooklyn at The Other Art Fair.
